Day 10 - (14th May) Masonry works completed! Carpentry measurements taken!

As per normal, I rushed home during lunchtime to check the progress. Today only 2 tilers were working - Ah How and Ah Han. The floor tiles were completed and they were finishing up the tiling of the concrete base (kerb area).

I felt honoured and elated when Uncle called me during lunch time and asked whether I would be at home because he had arranged for the carpentry guy to meet me and take measurements. Receiving a call from Uncle is like 沙漠中的甘露 ... has a reassuring and calming effect .... like a lifesaver ... haha

Anyway, it was not Jason that appeared but a guy called Amax. He immediately went to work and took measurements of the ceiling, base and the (supposedly) top cabinet. He also measured the size of the cabinet for our water purifier and toilet cabinet. I suppose I would not be meeting the legendery Jason as my job is too small and Jason is probably swamped with work as well.

Back to Amax, he drew the 3D perspective drawings of the cabinets and we discussed the shelvings, cabinets, doors, etc but he only gave me 1 choice of laminte - from Seng Lee. He said that they are currently the "in-thing" in the market. When I asked about Greenlam - he said he had never heard of this brand. When I asked about Meiko, he said Seng Lee's quality is better. As well, I noticed he cannot make any decisions because when I wanted him to make 3 frosted glass doors for my top cabinet from my larder onwards so that it is consistent, he said he must ask Uncle. He also told me I cannot use certain laminate range as it's more expensive ???? Uncle never tell me such things. Anyway, we choose the standard range as they looked fine. As Uncle told me the plumber and electrician will be coming down, I took half-day leave to ensure that the works are ok. Up till 6.30pm, I've yet to see their shadows .... Confirmed either Uncle forgot or the workers too busy ... I managed to get xvirusga76 to ask Uncle to return my call as he's meeting her to pass her the quotation. This actually worked and Uncle returned my call at around 10.15pm. He confirmed that the electrician will be down at 9am to install the switches and lights, and asked me to stick masking tapes at the location where the switches, etc will be located (i.e. 双，单，灯开关，热水开关, etc). Uncle also confirmed that the Plumber will be there to install the basins, WCs, etc. Finally, he told me that the painters will paint my house on Sat and Sun (Day 12 and 13).

I hope that when I drop by my place tomorrow noon, Uncle really meant what he said ! haha
